Our Client
This month we are featuring a real estate investment executive with 25 years of experience who was seeking his next challenge – Chief Investment Officer with a privately held company.
The Executive approached 20/20 Foresight after exhausting his extensive network of industry contacts six months into his job search. The Executive’s resume had been created by a “professional” resume service, but it lacked the necessary real estate industry expertise to make it effective. Additionally, as part of his severance package, the Executive was offered traditional outplacement counseling. Unfortunately, as is typical with outplacement services, it was deficient in numerous ways. Most notably, the outplacement counselor was a generalist, so they were unable to advise our client on how to convey his exit story and value proposition in an optimal way to the real estate industry.
Our Solution
- 20/20 began our 90-day marketing program by completely restructuring his resume and aligning his LinkedIn profile. Because we are real estate experts, his new resume stood out in a crowded market for investment professionals.
- We then marketed our client to thousands of industry hiring contacts and industry recruiters. 20/20 approaches every job search as a marketing campaign, not a networking exercise, so we connect our clients with thousands of hiring contacts, not just ten or twenty preferred companies. We are uniquely positioned to do this because our sister company, 20/20 Foresight Executive Search, is the largest real estate and financial services executive search firm in the U.S. – as a result, we are immersed in the world of jobs and hiring.
- Our client then received one-on-one interviewing coaching conducted by his dedicated consultant, an expert in the real estate industry. This coaching prepared our client on how to communicate his skills, value, and employment history in a compelling way.
- All of the above was conducted under strict confidentiality.
Success
During 20/20’s proven 90-day Executive Marketing process, our client received 43 job inquiries, 15 interviews and 3 offers (two by a privately held investment platform and the one by a non-traded public REIT). He ultimately accepted a position as a CIO for a private firm in New York City.
