Michael Morris
Michael leads 20/20 Foresight’s Austin office. He is primarily focused on growing the firm’s business in Central Texas and Houston. Michael has over 20 years of commercial real estate experience during which he was exposed to virtually every aspect and product type in the real estate industry. Michael combines his industry knowledge and large network with a strong customer service mindset to maximize each client’s executive search experience.
Prior to joining 20/20 Foresight, Michael worked in various roles on the sponsor side of the real estate industry. Since 2010, he has been active in the Austin market where he has originated, capitalized, and closed land and office transactions producing approximately $67 million in sponsor profit. Michael has also worked in lending where he originated, closed, and asset managed over 100 loans to distressed property owners throughout Texas.
Before relocating to Austin, Michael spent three years in Dallas at Ross Perot Jr.’s Hillwood Development Company. At Hillwood, Michael was a finance team lead on various developments within the Victory Park mixed-use development in Uptown. He was also instrumental in managing Hillwood’s exit from the Victory Park partnership during the Great Recession.
Michael began his real estate career in Houston where he worked for Hines Interests, LP in the central headquarters office from 2001-2006. He worked within the Emerging Markets Funds group which utilized a private equity model to invest in developing all asset types of Class A real estate around the globe. In this role, Michael was responsible for financial analyses, asset management, and fund management of the Funds as well as the Funds’ underlying real estate.
A native of Houston, TX, Michael graduated cum laude from The University of Texas at Austin McComb’s School of Business with a BBA in finance and a minor in economics.
