It’s an understatement to say that 2020 has been unlike any other year, but one thing is for certain: We’ve all learned a lot over the last 12 months. It’s an interesting exercise to look back at the top 10 industry trends lists from the beginning of the year knowing what we know now, but several predictors remain prescient. Game-changers such as the rise of remote work and the importance of workplace culture took center stage in 2020, and many companies were caught unprepared for the monumental shifts we experienced as a society that played out in the workplace.
Many might say that our workplaces were ready for a reboot. But it was the organizations that tapped into their organizational adaptability and the collective power of their human capital that were able to fare these unknown waters best. And, as recruiters, it was up to us to serve as perceptive, productive partners to our clients who were leading their teams through these rapid (and sometimes rocky) transformations.
We’re all eager to get 2020 in our rearview and focus on the new year, but we’d like to take a moment to reflect on the year that was. Our team’s resiliency, agility and experience served us well during these dramatic and disruptive times, a cause for commemoration if ever there was one.
20/20’s 2020 in Review
In the spirit of remaining proactive and positive, 20/20 Foresight capitalized on opportunities to expand our reach and capabilities this year, opening an office in the burgeoning hub of Pittsburgh. We also recruited wisely to build our own staff, adding several strategic new hires who all possess distinguished backgrounds in a range of verticals, including real estate, construction/development, private equity, venture capital, manufacturing, supply chain, healthcare, digital media, technology and many more. Their industry experience and expertise is one of the reasons why 20/20 Foresight is different from all other recruitment firms, and we’re fortunate to have these professionals on board.
We were thrilled to once again be named to the Forbes list of “America’s Best Executive Recruiting Firms” for the fourth year running, advancing our position to #15. This annual compilation highlights the nation’s top recruiters, and 20/20 Foresight is honored by the recognition of our singular approach to recruitment.
What Does 2021 Hold for Recruiting?
There is much to look forward to in our careers in the new year, including a revitalized economy and an emphasis on increased flexibility in our workplaces.
As the economic outlook improves, we predict a modest executive-level hiring boom, with a focus on multi-faceted individuals who are well equipped to lead diverse and often dispersed teams through this transitional time period.
Top workplace trends for 2021 indicate that we’re all in for a busy year, but if the last 12 months taught us anything, it’s that together we can accomplish just about anything we put our minds to.
